Sports At KPS

These were the words of an Olympian after coming second in the 100m sprint.

Games at KPS are played with much fervor and passion. There is an emphasis on regular exercise and physical fitness. All games are supervised by masters.

Team spirit and the desire to give the best performance possible are our watchwords. We have Nationally-trained Physical Trainer to coach the boys, and a tremendous improvement has been witnessed in the techniques and performance of our boys and girls.

Cricket and Football are seasonal sports. Apart from these, we have provisions for Volley Ball, Badminton, Basketball, Athletics, and Gymnastics. There are various indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, Carom Board, Badminton, etc.

There is a huge playground surrounded by parks and plants, with enough space for viewers to sit. Cricket and football are played on this ground. Apart from this, there are small grounds for Volleyball, Badminton, basketball etc.

The students, as well as the teachers, are grouped into four houses, namely: Oleander, Lotus, Jasmine and Daisy, with different house colors and dresses. Each house is having their house captains and vice captains. There are captains for different games as well. All the teachers take active parts in games and sports. Inter-house and inter-class matches were played during the games and other free periods.

Annual Sports Meet is conducted during the winters, every year. Students are prepared for the Inter-School Competitions. Teachers in KPS are seen playing with the students to maintain the discipline of the games and to generate the sportsman spirit among the students.

We have a beautiful Children's Park "Aasha" furnished with Benches, Marina wave shaped Slides, Double Swings, See-saws, Hangers and many other exercising types of equipment. The children enjoy their time at the Children's Park, keeping this point in mind, we have included the games period in our curriculum, and the students of junior sections are taken to the park by the teacher in charge. Physical fitness is a very important aspect especially for the growing children and we care for the all round development of our children.

The school has a big Toy Room, dedicated to the tiny tots. Especially for the pre-primary sections, there is a toy room, which has a lot of different kinds of toys for the small kids. The toys include rubber horses, elephants, rubber balls, plastic vehicles, plastic slides, and swings etc. Here the kids enjoy whatever and however they like, in their own way. The toy room provides a play-school kind of environment for the kids. They enjoy being in the toy room, guided by the attendants. The fun at studies is very important for the tiny kids so that education do not become a burden on the tiny shoulders and they should enjoy being in the school.
